Bistro's or Bistros? Try doing a restaurant search to see if you can find anything .

If you're looking for a modern version of typical Quebecois fare (which differs from "continental" French cooking), and you like beer, my top recommendation is Fourquet-Fourchette du Palais -- each dish is made with or matched to a different type of beer, all of which are yummy.

This is also on the edge of the old business district and the old city, so you can wander before or after dinner and see some of the more unique parts of downtown Montreal -- my favourite Canadian city bar none. If you're looking for something more continentally French in orientation, you're likely to find it here.

We enjoy Bonaparte (ref. below) in the old town.

Try Restaurant La Loie if you like creative and adventurous experience (second reference). It was a relatively new restaurant.

Bon Appetit!!
